There were also 31 Marines and Sailors that were wounded, receiving the Purple Heart, during operations in Iraq . Two Marines were twice wounded; being awarded the Purple Heart each time. Lima Company received a total of 56 Purple Hearts, 23 of those were posthumously presented to family members of our Marines and Sailors.
